Antique stoneware jug with hinged pewter lid. Dolphin finial or thumb lever. Rounded body with embossed horizontal line decorations. The cylinder pour spout neck features a wide blue band with ‘Mediterranean’ inspired decoration.

Stamped on base Milan Patent Mosaic.

This is a mid 19th century Staffordshire (England) area product but we are unsure* of the particular maker.

It is in excellent condition, stands 9 inches tall and the dolphin finial/thumb lever also acts as a rest for the lid.

I suspect but have been unable to prove that  it was made by Dudson of Stoke-on-Trent. Dudson is actually still in business and entering their 214th year.
