Printed in Amsterdam ca., 1720 as part of Henri Chatelain’s Atlas Historique ou Nouvelle.

The full title of the print is:

. . which is why it is typically called The Beaver Print.

It shows groups of views of native life in Canada, including boats, clothing, fishing, hunting, and other scenes.

It measures 19 1/4 inches wide and 17 inches tall and is hand colored. It is in excellent condition although it does have a few small repaired spots.  There are six little places that were damaged due to bookworms, two repaired stitch holes (?) along the center fold and one tear on the center fold, the repair of which looks remarkably like . . .  a pelt.

The paper is watermarked with a fleur-de-lis  over what appears to be a shield.
